Description
The American Elite Stratocaster HSS Shawbucker takes the familiar Strat formula and rewires it for players who need serious tonal range without sacrificing that classic feel. At the bridge sits a Shawbucker humbucker with real midrange bite, while the neck and middle positions get Fender’s 4th generation Noiseless pickups — hum-free, but voiced to sound convincingly vintage. Flip the push-push S-1 switch and you engage the “passing lane,” rerouting the bridge pickup straight past the tone circuit for an instant jump in output and overtone content.
Playability gets just as much attention as tone. The compound-radius neck (9.5″-14″) shifts from a modern “C” profile at the nut to a “D” shape near the redesigned neck heel, so chords feel substantial low on the neck while solos stay effortless up high. Locking, short-post tuners increase break angle over the bone nut for tuning stability, and the smooth two-point tremolo lets you add vibrato without knocking things out of tune. Fender even relocated the truss rod wheel to the heel end for quick relief adjustments on the fly.
Visually, it’s an Elite through and through — deeper body contours, a black chrome headstock logo, a new string tree, and oversized pearloid dot inlays over a rosewood board finished in classic 3-Color Sunburst.
