The Telecaster Deluxe first showed up in 1973 because players wanted hum-free tone that still sounded like an amp on the edge of blowing up. This American Professional version keeps that mission alive while adding real player-focused upgrades for stage and studio work.
At the heart of the guitar sit two ShawBucker humbuckers, each voiced differently for its position on the body. The result is a fuller, thicker tone than a standard Tele twang, but the pickups still carry Fender’s sonic signature underneath the extra girth — equally at home in pop, punk, or heavier styles. A treble-bleed circuit on both volume controls keeps the top end intact as you roll back the volume, so your tone doesn’t turn muddy when you back off.
The neck is cut in Fender’s “Deep C” profile — a shape that splits the difference between Modern C and U, with a bit more shoulder mass for a natural feel whether you’re chording or picking single notes. Narrow-tall frets make bending strings and nailing intonation up the neck noticeably easier. Down at the bridge, three compensated brass barrel saddles handle intonation duties, tucked under a redesigned ashtray-style cover that stays clear of your palm-muting hand.
