Description
Fender took a scalpel to the classic Telecaster formula for the American Professional series, keeping what worked and quietly upgrading everything else. The result is a workhorse Tele that feels vintage-inspired but plays like a modern instrument, finished here in eye-catching Mystic Seafoam.
At the heart of the tone are Tim Shaw’s V-Mod single-coil pickups, each voiced individually for its position using a specific blend of alnico magnet types. Bridge and neck pickups work together through a 3-position blade switch to deliver that unmistakable Fender snap along with some added warmth and output vintage examples couldn’t quite reach.
The neck wears a new “Deep C” profile – a shape that splits the difference between a Modern C and a U, giving your hand more to hold onto without feeling bulky. Narrow-tall frets make bending and fretting chords up the neck feel more precise, and a bone nut adds clarity and sustain right from the top of the fretboard.
Down at the bridge, three compensated brass barrel saddles bring accurate intonation to the classic strings-through-body design, while the redesigned ashtray-style cover stays out of the way of your palm-muting hand. A treble-bleed circuit on the volume control means rolling back your volume won’t dull your top end – your tone stays articulate no matter where the knob sits.
