The Stratocaster needs no introduction. Since 1954 it’s been the go-to instrument for players chasing everything from twangy blues licks to searing rock leads, and the American Professional Stratocaster brings that legacy forward without losing what made it great in the first place. This is the original design refined with real playability upgrades, not a reinvention.
At the heart of the tone are three V-Mod single-coil pickups, designed by veteran pickup engineer Tim Shaw. Rather than using identical coils in each position, Shaw mixed alnico magnet types and voiced each pickup specifically for where it sits, so the neck, middle, and bridge all deliver their own character while staying unmistakably Fender. A treble-bleed circuit built into the volume control keeps your top end intact even as you roll off the volume, which matters when you’re cleaning up gain on the fly.
The maple neck wears a new modern “Deep C” profile, sitting somewhere between a Modern C and a U-shape, giving your hand more to grip without feeling clubby. Paired with 22 narrow-tall frets, it’s a neck built for accurate bends and clean chord work all the way up the fingerboard. A bone nut helps with tuning stability and sustain, and the redesigned pop-in tremolo arm stays put through aggressive playing while letting you dial in your preferred arm tension.
