Fender debuted the Jaguar in 1962 as its most feature-loaded electric guitar, and it went on to become the instrument of choice for surf pioneers, punk rebels, and alt-rock outsiders alike. The American Original ’60s Jaguar revives that offset-body original with a few subtle modern refinements, keeping the short 24″ scale and slinky feel that made it a favorite of players who wanted something different from a Strat or Tele.

At the heart of the tone are wax-potted Pure Vintage ’62 Jaguar single-coil pickups, built to spec with enamel-coated coil wire, cloth-covered leads, fiber bobbins, and alnico 5 magnets. The quirky Jaguar circuitry is all here too — separate lead and rhythm circuits, plus the bass-cutting “strangle” switch that gives this guitar its signature twang. Vintage-tall frets sit on a round-laminated rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5″ radius, and the neck carries a ’60s “C” profile for comfortable, familiar playability.

Details go deep: original-era body radii, a vintage-style floating tremolo with lock button and push-in arm, Pure Vintage single-line “Fender Deluxe” tuning machines, and a 3-ply eggshell pickguard. The alder body wears a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish in Surf Green — a finish that lets the wood resonate naturally and ages beautifully over time. A vintage-style hardshell case is included.
