Fender’s Jaguar arrived in 1962 as the flagship of the electric line, then found its true home decades later in the hands of surf, punk and alt-rock players who loved its short scale and clattery, switch-happy circuitry. The American Original ’60s Jaguar revives that original character while quietly updating the feel for today’s guitarist, and this example comes dressed in Candy Apple Red over an alder body with a gloss nitrocellulose finish that ages and resonates the way old-school lacquer should.

Powering the tone are wax-potted Pure Vintage ’62 single-coil Jaguar pickups, built with enamel coil wire, cloth-covered leads, fiber bobbins and alnico 5 magnets to match the originals down to the details. The full lead/rhythm switching layout is intact, complete with the bass-cutting “strangle” switch, so you get the same layered, chime-and-growl tonal palette that made this model a cult favorite.

The maple neck carries a ’60s “C” profile with a 24-inch scale, 9.5-inch radius rosewood fingerboard, 22 vintage-tall frets and a bone nut — a combination that keeps the neck fast and comfortable while staying true to period spec. Vintage-style hardware rounds it out, including the floating tremolo with lock button and push-in arm, single-line Fender Deluxe tuners, and a 3-ply eggshell pickguard.
