Description
Before there was such a thing as a “classic electric guitar,” there was the Stratocaster—and the American Original ’50s edition is Fender’s tribute to that original blueprint. Finished in White Blonde over an ash body with gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, this guitar wears its heritage openly, right down to a finish that will age and mellow with the instrument over time.
The heart of its tone comes from a set of Pure Vintage ’59 single-coil pickups, wax-potted and built with Formvar-coated coil wire, cloth-covered leads, fiber bobbins, and alnico 5 magnets—essentially a period-accurate recipe for that unmistakable early Strat voice. They’re wired to a 5-position blade switch with master volume and two tone controls, giving you the full range of Strat tonal combinations from glassy neck warmth to biting bridge snap.
Fretted with vintage-tall wire along a 9.5″ radius maple fingerboard, and topped with a thick Soft V neck profile, the neck favors chord players who want substance under their hand without sacrificing the smooth feel modern players expect. A bone nut, 21 frets, and a 25.5″ scale round out a neck built for both comfort and stability.
Hardware stays true to form with a Pure Vintage 6-saddle synchronized tremolo, single-line Fender Deluxe tuning machines, and nickel/chrome plating throughout. An eggshell pickguard and matching control knobs complete the vintage-correct look.
