Description
The Suhr Standard Plus takes the brand’s popular Standard body—slightly downsized from the Classic, with sharper edge radii and longer horns—and dresses it up with scraped binding, a white pearl pickguard, and a side-mounted input jack. Finished in Trans Whale Burst over a flame maple top and basswood body, this one is built to turn heads while staying supremely playable.
The roasted maple neck wears an Even C Slim profile (.800″-.880″) with a roasted maple fingerboard, 1.650″ Tusq nut, and a 10″-14″ compound radius for effortless chording up top and bend-friendly clearance up high. Heavy stainless steel frets (.051″x.108″) hold their shine and feel through years of playing.
Tone comes from a Suhr SSH+ bridge humbucker alongside V60 neck and middle single coils, all wound with Alnico 5 Special magnets for that classic HSS spread—thick and articulate at the bridge, glassy and vocal in the middle and neck positions. Suhr’s SSCII (Silent Single Coil System II) kills 60-cycle hum on the single coil settings with zero battery required, so you get true single-coil character without the noise.
Hardware includes Suhr’s own locking tuners (18:1 ratio) for fast string changes and rock-solid tuning stability, plus a Gotoh 510 bridge with steel block for improved sustain and tuning return. Everything is finished in chrome.
