It’s built for players who need extra range for heavier riffing and extended chord voicings but still want a neck that feels fast and familiar.
A basswood body pairs with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard, bolted on with a 5-bolt joint for solid sustain and stability. The 25.5″ scale and 16″ fretboard radius across 24 frets keep bends smooth and high-fret runs comfortable, while the 50mm nut width and 60mm width at the 12th fret give the low B string room to breathe.
Matched H/H ceramic magnet pickups, custom-designed for this instrument, deliver high-output tone with a 3-way switch for tonal flexibility. The recessed Modern Tremolo bridge — engineered by Music Man — offers accurate intonation and smooth, stable operation whether you’re staying in tune through aggressive whammy work or dialing in precise pitch dives.
Signature touches carry over from the rest of Petrucci’s line: die-cast locking tuners keep string changes quick and tuning rock-solid, and his “JP Shield” logo is inlaid right at the first fret. Black hardware finishes off the look against the Translucent Purple Burst finish.
