The Fullerton Deluxe Legacy takes the best-loved spec combinations from G&L’s Build To Order program and packages them into a ready-to-play instrument. It draws on design cues spanning decades of G&L history, wrapped in a satin Clear Tint finish that lets the wood grain show through up the neck.
Under the hood, the Legacy borrows refinements from Leo Fender’s own S-500 and Comanche designs, mating them with traditional Alnico V single-coil pickups for warm, articulate tone that stays true to the classic S-style formula. Where it separates itself from a standard single-coil guitar is the P.T.B. system — Passive Treble and Bass controls that go well beyond a typical tone knob. Instead of one control quietly rolling off highs, two independent passive tone knobs let you carve treble and bass frequencies separately, giving you far more shaping power without ever touching a battery or active circuit.
This model is offered in a trio of finish and wood pairings:
- Jet Black over Alder, 3-ply parchment pickguard, available with maple or Caribbean rosewood fingerboard
- Old School Tobacco over Swamp Ash, 3-ply parchment pickguard, available with maple or Caribbean rosewood fingerboard
- Blonde over Swamp Ash, 3-ply tortoise pickguard, maple fingerboard
Every Legacy is built at G&L’s original Fullerton, California facility on Fender Avenue — the same site Leo Fender established in 1980 and still known as the Birthplace of Bolt-on construction.
