Description
Built to Synyster Gates’ spec, the Custom-S pairs shred-ready hardware with a set-neck design engineered for both stability and reach. The mahogany body and 3-piece mahogany neck (reinforced with carbon fiber rods) are joined via Schecter’s Ultra Access construction, so the upper frets stay within easy reach even during the wildest solos. An ebony fretboard with a 16″ radius and 24 X-Jumbo frets sits under an Ultra Thin ‘C’ neck profile, keeping the feel fast without sacrificing hand support.
Tone comes from a Seymour Duncan Invader Syn TB-8 Gold in the bridge for aggressive, high-output lead and rhythm work, matched with a Sustainiac in the neck position. The Sustainiac isn’t just a pickup – it’s a controllable sustain engine, switchable between Fundamental, Mix, and Harmonic modes via its own 3-way switch, plus a separate on-off toggle, all powered by a 9-volt battery housed in a clip-in compartment.
A Floyd Rose 1500 Series bridge and matching nut handle divebombs and pitch tricks with the tuning stability to back them up, while locking Grover tuners keep things settled string-to-string. Gold hardware, black 1-ply binding, glow-in-the-dark side dots, and the signature gold pearloid ‘SYN’ and ‘Deathbat’ inlays finish the look in Satin Gold Burst. Strung from the factory with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010-.046 strings. Right-handed, made in South Korea. Case sold separately.
