Aaron Marshall of Intervals has built a career on refusing to stay inside the lines, and this AM-7 reflects that restlessness. It’s a 7-string designed to move fluidly between hyper-technical prog runs and washed-out ambient textures, without forcing you to compromise on either end.
The basswood double-cutaway body keeps things light and resonant, while the bolt-on quartersawn wenge neck uses a thin C profile that stays comfortable through long practice sessions or marathon sets. A 16″ radius Macassar ebony fingerboard carries 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, so bends and legato phrasing feel effortless from the first fret to the last. Aluminum offset circle inlays and Luminlay side markers keep you oriented even under dim stage lighting.
Marshall’s signature electronics anchor the tone: a Solstice humbucker at the bridge for cutting attack, and an Equinox humbucker at the neck for warmth and depth. The 5-way pickup switch opens up tonal combinations beyond a standard setup, giving you room to sculpt everything from tight metal riffs to airy cleans. A GraphTech XL nut and Hipshot 7-string fixed bridge with Hipshot grip-lock tuners round out a build focused on tuning stability and consistent intonation across the extended range.
