Built to Chris Howorth’s exacting specs, the V-7 is a no-frills, single-pickup 7-string designed for players who want extended range without sacrificing playability. The mahogany body and 3-piece mahogany neck are joined via a set-neck construction with Ultra Access, letting you reach the upper frets cleanly, while carbon fiber reinforcement rods keep the neck stable under the tension of seven strings.
The 26.5″ scale length is tailored specifically for 7-string tuning stability, and the rosewood fretboard – finished with a 16″ radius and 24 X-Jumbo frets – is dressed up with Mother of Pearl spider inlays that nod to Howorth’s signature style. A Thin ‘C’ neck profile keeps things fast and comfortable in hand, backed by a 2-way adjustable truss rod for easy setup tweaks.
Sonically, this guitar is stripped down to essentials: a single EMG 707 bridge pickup delivers tight, high-output tone suited to modern metal and heavy riffing, controlled by a single volume knob and powered via a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment.
