Description
The Hellraiser Extreme-5 takes Schecter’s gothic-styled bass and dials in extra sustain and low-end clarity through its neck-thru-body construction with Ultra Access heel carve. A mahogany body wears a quilted maple top with an arched contour, wrapped in MOP binding accented by black/white/black multi-ply purfling for a striking look that still lets the wood do the talking tonally.
The maple/walnut multi-ply neck runs a full 35″ scale and carries a thin ‘C’ profile, measuring .787″ at the first fret and .866″ at the twelfth, so five-string players get room to dig in without feeling like they’re wrestling a plank. An ebony fretboard hosts 24 X-Jumbo frets at a 16″ radius, inlaid with MOP gothic cross markers, and terminates at a 1.771″ Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut for smooth, stable tuning.
Active EMG 40TW pickups sit in both the bridge and neck positions, each with coil-tap capability accessed via push-pull volume knobs, giving you single-coil snap on demand alongside the full-bodied EMG punch. An 18-volt EMG 3-band EQ (running off a screw-plate battery compartment) lets you sculpt lows, mids, and highs with real precision rather than settling for a generic tone stack.
