The Damien Platinum 7 is Schecter’s answer for players who need extended range without sacrificing playability. A mahogany body sits under a set neck with Ultra Access construction, giving you unobstructed reach into the upper frets – all 24 of them, cut jumbo for easy bending and fretting.
That neck itself is built from three pieces of maple rather than one solid blank. It’s a construction choice that pays off over years of climate swings and temperature changes, keeping the neck straight and stable long after a standard neck might start fighting back. The rosewood fingerboard on top adds warmth underfoot, its natural oils soaking up stray overtones so the fundamental note comes through richer and rounder than you’d get from maple.
Powering the sound is an EMG 81-7/85-7 active pickup pairing – a proven combo for 7-string players who want a razor-edged attack and sustain that keeps ringing through heavy overdrive. The 81-7 in the bridge is voiced specifically for high-output lead work and pushes hard against a cranked amp, making this a natural fit for riff-driven rock and anything that demands low-end punch without mud.
Rounding out the build: a 26.5″ scale length for added string tension on the low B, a TonePros TOM bridge, Grover Rotomatic tuners with an 18:1 gear ratio for precise, backlash-free tuning, and satin chrome hardware finished to match the understated satin black body. Platinum bat inlays and multi-ply binding add a bit of visual flash without getting in the way of the guitar’s purpose.
