Description
The SE Paul’s Guitar takes its cues directly from Paul Reed Smith’s personal collection of go-to instruments, translating those premium touches into the SE line’s accessible price range. It starts with a mahogany body capped in highly figured maple, giving you that classic PRS blend of visual depth, resonant sustain, and unmistakable sparkle in the Black Gold Sunburst finish.
The neck is where this guitar really invites you in. A 22-fret Pattern profile mahogany neck fills the hand comfortably while staying fast under your fingers, and the rosewood fingerboard is dressed with PRS’s signature bird inlays for a fretboard that’s as pretty as it is playable.
Where the Paul’s Guitar sets itself apart is in the electronics bay. A matched pair of custom-voiced TCI humbuckers comes wired with independent coil-tap switches for each pickup — a control scheme you won’t find on any other SE model, and one that’s largely reserved for PRS’s Core and Private Stock instruments. That setup opens the door to a genuinely wide tonal palette, from airy, single-coil-style shimmer to full-bodied, high-gain humbucker push, with plenty of usable ground in between.
