Description
The SE 277 stretches out to a 27.7″ scale length, giving low tunings the tension and punch they need without turning to mush. That extra length is what makes drop-B riffing feel tight and controlled rather than floppy, but don’t mistake this guitar for a one-dimensional metal machine.
PRS loaded it with 85/15 “S” pickups in both positions, chosen for their clarity and extended frequency range. That means the 277 can just as easily handle articulate blues bends or funky bass-line-under-melody parts as it can chug through the heaviest riffs. A string-through-body bridge design adds sustain and resonance, letting every note ring out with authority whether you’re playing clean or crunched.
Up top, a beveled maple cap with flame maple veneer sits over a mahogany back for a warm, resonant foundation, while the maple neck’s Wide Fat profile gives your hand plenty to hold onto through 22 frets on a rosewood board inlaid with PRS’s signature bird markers. PRS-designed tuners and nickel hardware round out a build meant for players who want one guitar that can genuinely cover multiple sonic territories.
