Description
Gretsch teamed up with Bono once more to put a personal stamp on the G5623 Electromatic Center-Block, a thinline hollow body built around a spruce center-block for high-gain tone with feedback under control. The (RED) branding on the pickguard and truss rod cover nods to Bono’s ongoing support of Product Red and its work battling HIV/AIDS.
Under the bound arched maple top sit dual Black Top Filter’Tron pickups, wired through a 3-position toggle for bridge, combined, or neck tone, with master volume and tone knobs keeping things simple on stage. The maple neck carries a 22-fret bound rosewood board dressed in white pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, a 1.6875″ nut, and a 24.6″ scale that splits the difference between snap and sustain.
- Arched laminated maple top, back, and sides with white body, f-hole, and fingerboard binding
- Adjusto-Matic bridge anchored to a “G”-cutout tailpiece
- Grover Deluxe die-cast sealed tuners with chrome hardware throughout
- (RED) painted headstock with Bono’s signature on the back, silver-screened Electromatic logo, and (RED) logo on the 2-ply truss rod cover
- “G”-arrow control knobs, knurled strap buttons, silver pickup bezels
- Includes G6267 Deluxe Hardshell thinline case
Part of the Electromatic Collection, this signature model pairs Gretsch’s classic hollow body character with a distinctive, socially conscious design that stands out from the rest of the lineup.
