The G5422TG carries forward Gretsch’s hollow-body legacy with a laminated maple body built around vintage-inspired outlines and refined arching. New trestle block bracing tightens up the connection between top and back, tamping down feedback while giving notes a quicker attack, more focus, and longer sustain. Paired with the new FT-5E Filter’Tron pickups, the guitar delivers that big, punchy Gretsch voice with plenty of chime, clarity, and note-to-note definition.
The neck is an all-new Classic “C”-profile in maple, shaped for a relaxed, natural grip, and finished with a 12-inch radius laurel fingerboard dressed in pearloid Hump Block inlays. Wiring is more flexible than you’d expect at this level: master volume with a treble bleed circuit, master tone, separate volume knobs for each pickup, and a three-way toggle for switching between them.
Details echo Gretsch’s golden era throughout – oversized bound F-holes, multi-ply body binding, and a scaled-down late-’50s G6120-style bound headstock fitted with vintage open-back tuners. A Graph Tech NuBone nut, secured Adjusto-Matic bridge, and Bigsby B60 vibrato tailpiece round out the hardware, all finished in gold to match the pickguard.
Finished here in Snowcrest White, this Electromatic Classic wears its heritage well without asking you to chase down a vintage original.
