Description
The Broadkaster name has long stood for Gretsch’s biggest, boldest tones, and the G6659TG Players Edition Jr. brings that spirit into a trimmed-down single-cutaway body. A chambered spruce center block sits beneath the arched laminated maple top and back, cutting down on feedback and shaving off weight while letting the guitar breathe with a warmer, more resonant voice than a solid-body electric.
At the heart of the tone are two U.S.-built Full’Tron pickups, engineered to push out full-range output with a distinctive growl that separates them from vintage-style Filter’Trons. You still get that signature Gretsch chime and top-end sparkle, but with a slight bump in midrange focus that helps the guitar cut through when you’re driving an amp hard or leaning into distortion.
Finished in Cadillac Green with a matching painted headstock, this guitar pairs gleaming gold hardware with a tortoise pickguard bearing the gold Gretsch logo. A string-thru Bigsby vibrato adds smooth, controllable pitch effects, while the anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge keeps intonation stable. Gotoh locking tuners hold tune reliably, and the ebony fingerboard with aged pearloid thumbnail inlays and a Standard “U” neck shape give it comfortable, confident playability across all 22 medium jumbo frets.
