The G6128T-59 Vintage Select ’59 Duo Jet brings back the exact era when Gretsch first fitted Filter’Tron pickups to its flagship solid-body guitar, and this reissue captures that moment with real attention to detail. Rather than a true solid slab, the Duo Jet’s mahogany body is chambered beneath an arched laminated maple top, which opens up the tone with extra air and harmonic complexity you wouldn’t expect from its compact, single-cutaway Jet shape.
Loaded with a pair of TV Jones Classic pickups, this guitar nails the vintage Filter’Tron character – toothy midrange bite from the bridge, warm roundness from the neck, and plenty of tonal variety via the 3-way toggle and tone switch. The mahogany neck wears a Vintage “V” profile with an ebony fingerboard, aged pearloid thumbnail inlays, and aged white binding that ties into the body’s matching aged white trim for that unmistakable period-correct look.
Hardware is built for both stability and style: Grover Sta-Tite tuners keep things in tune, a Space Control bridge dials in string spacing, and the factory Bigsby adds pitch-bending shimmer without sacrificing sustain. Finished in black with an aged white plexi pickguard and G-Arrow knobs, it’s a striking, road-ready instrument.
