Description
The Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar brings back one of Fender’s quirkiest designs, keeping the surf-rock personality intact while sharpening the tone with Duncan Designed JG-101B and JG-101N single-coil pickups. It’s got the short 24″ scale and dual-circuit control layout that make the Jaguar unlike any other offset guitar – flip between the rhythm circuit (neck pickup only, rolled off through its own volume/tone) and the lead circuit, which lets you run neck, bridge, or both together with an added tone circuit switch for extra tonal shaping.
Under the hood, a basswood body carries a maple neck finished in vintage-tint gloss polyurethane, paired with a 9.5″ radius laurel fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and parchment dot inlays. That flatter radius makes bending and fast lead work more comfortable than a vintage-spec Jaguar, without losing the classic feel. The white-black-white pickguard against the Surf Green finish is a look straight out of the ’60s surf catalog.
Hardware stays true to form with a vintage-style bridge and non-locking floating vibrato, complete with a vintage-style tremolo arm for that shimmering, wobbly Jaguar vibrato sound. Chrome hardware and tuners round out the vintage vibe, while a four-bolt neck plate keeps things stable.
