Description
Built from LR Baggs’ experience recording acoustic guitars in Nashville’s top studios, the Session DI takes that polished, engineer-crafted sound and packs it into a pedal you can run at any gig. Instead of a flat, thin piezo signal, you get depth, warmth, and the kind of tonal shaping usually reserved for a mixing console.
Two circuits do the heavy lifting. The Analog Saturation stage adds subtle harmonic richness voiced specifically for acoustic instruments, giving your sound the same organic thickness studios chase after. Then the Comp EQ engages three narrow, touch-responsive compression bands across the low, mid, and high ranges — they react to how hard you play, taming boxiness or harshness without squashing your dynamics the way a standard compressor would.
Beyond tone shaping, the Session DI is built for real-world stage problems: a Garret Null notch filter knocks down resonant feedback, a variable high-pass filter clears out rumble, and a ground lift switch quiets hum from mismatched gear. A VU meter helps you dial in clean gain staging whether you’re running passive or active pickups, and the mute footswitch silences both the XLR and 1/4″ outputs for silent instrument swaps or tuning breaks.
Inside a rugged aluminum, steel, and ABS enclosure, this DI runs on 48V phantom power, a 9V battery, or 9V DC — flexible enough for any stage setup.
