Description
This 12-pack of Ernie Ball 2148 Earthwood Phosphor Bronze strings is built for players who don’t want to think about restringing more than once or twice a year. Each set wraps a phosphor bronze alloy — 92% copper, 7.7% tin, and 0.3% phosphorus — around a tin-plated hex-shaped steel core, a construction choice that gives these strings their distinctive light orange, gold hue and their long sustain.
Tonally, phosphor bronze splits the difference between bright and dark: you get a mellow low end with plenty of ringing sustain, plus enough top-end clarity that strummed chords and fingerpicked passages both come through clean. It’s a versatile voice that suits everything from folk fingerstyle to full-strum singer-songwriter work.
The included gauges are .011, .015, .022w, .030, .042, and .052, a light gauge set that’s easy on the fingers while still delivering solid projection out of most acoustic bodies.
