Description
The RRT-3 takes Randy Rhoads’ legendary V shape and loads it with pro-grade construction that plays as aggressive as it looks. A three-piece maple through-body neck carries graphite reinforcement rods for rock-solid sustain, finished in a hand-rubbed oil that keeps the back feeling fast and natural under your palm. The bound ebony fingerboard uses Jackson’s compound radius, curving from a rounder 12″ profile near the nut to a flatter 16″ toward the heel, so open chords feel comfortable while high-fret bends and shred lines stay effortless across all 22 jumbo frets.
Tone comes from a proven Seymour Duncan pairing: the JB SH4 humbucker in the bridge delivers cutting, high-output lead tone, while the Jazz SH2N in the neck offers a warmer, more articulate voice for rhythm and cleaner passages. A 3-way toggle lets you blend or isolate either pickup, with simple master volume and tone controls keeping things straightforward on stage. The compensated, adjustable string-through-body bridge locks in tuning stability and sustain without the complexity of a tremolo system.
Details that round out the build:
- Alder body in gloss polyurethane, Ivory with Black Pinstripes finish
- White fingerboard and headstock binding with pearloid sharkfin inlays
- Graphite nut, dual-action truss rods, 1.75″ nut width
- 25.5″ scale length, Jackson pointed 6-in-line headstock
- Gold hardware: Jackson sealed die-cast tuners, dome-style knobs
- Dunlop straplocks, black truss rod cover and pickup bezels
- Strung with .009-.042 NPS strings
This is a Jackson Pro Series instrument through and through: built for players who need stability, articulation, and speed without compromise, whether on stage or in the studio.
