The D-140 brings back the warmth and projection Guild dreadnoughts are known for, built around a solid Sitka spruce top paired with solid African mahogany back and sides. The Westerly scalloped X-bracing lets the top breathe, giving you a full, even response that holds up whether you’re strumming hard or picking softly.
Details borrowed straight from Guild’s 1960s catalog give this guitar its character: the Chesterfield headstock emblem, a period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard, and a mother-of-pearl rosette set against black/ivory purfling. The Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, along with NuBone nut and saddle, round out a build that’s as much about tone as it is about looks.
Guild shaped the neck with a comfortable C profile and a 1¾” nut width, so chords and single-note runs both feel natural under the hand. A 25½” scale length and 16″ fingerboard radius keep playability smooth all the way up the neck.
