Before amplifiers took over, the archtop acoustic was the workhorse of jazz, blues, and early rock guitarists everywhere. Godin’s 5th Avenue revives that lineage in a Black finish, giving you the vintage voice and silhouette of a classic hollowbody without chasing down a vintage price tag.
Built entirely from Canadian Wild Cherry, the top, back, and sides are pressed into a traditional arched shape and trimmed with cream binding for a clean, old-school look. Classic f-holes and a floating pickguard round out the vintage styling, while an adjustable Tusq bridge from Graphtech lets you dial in intonation and action to taste. Compared to many old-world archtops, the 5th Avenue pushes out noticeably more low-mid presence and volume, giving strummed chords and single-note runs a fuller, more dynamic voice.
The neck is Silver Leaf maple topped with a rosewood fingerboard, joined to a contoured, high-gloss black headstock that mirrors the body’s finish. A 24.84″ scale and 1.72″ nut width keep the playing feel comfortable and familiar, whether you’re fingerpicking Delta blues, comping jazz chords, or working a slide across the strings.
