Description
Part of Gretsch’s Roots Collection, the G9121 Tenor A.C.E brings old-world ukulele charm into modern gigging shape. The solid quartersawn mahogany top pairs with laminated mahogany back and sides for a warm, woody voice with plenty of midrange punch, while fan bracing helps the top breathe for a fuller, more resonant tone than you’d expect at this price.
The one-piece mahogany neck carries a rosewood fingerboard dressed with mother-of-pearl diamond “snowflake” inlays, a nod to Gretsch’s vintage aesthetic. A bone nut and saddle, rosewood bridge, and Grover 9NB geared tuners keep tuning stable and intonation accurate across the 19-fret, 17″ scale neck. Aquila Nylgut strings deliver a smooth, traditional feel and a rounder tone than typical nylon.
For amplified playing, Gretsch built in a Fishman Kula active preamp with onboard tuner, so you can plug straight into an amp or PA without fuss. The open-pore semi-gloss finish in Honey Mahogany Stain keeps the wood grain visible and the vibe understated.
