Acoustic players tend to accumulate a pile of boxes just to get a clean, controllable signal to the house system — the ToneDEQ AFX is Fishman’s answer to that clutter. It combines preamp, tone shaping, dynamics control, and a stage-ready DI into one unit, built around a fully analog signal chain from input to output.
Analog Path, Digital Extras
The core signal stays purely analog throughout, preserving the natural character of your instrument. The onboard digital effects run in parallel rather than inline, so dialing in reverb or modulation never dulls or colors your acoustic tone.
Class A Preamp Front End
Fishman’s discrete Class A JFET input stage offers high impedance handling, which passive pickups need to sound their best and avoid signal loading.
Shape It, Tame It
A 4-band EQ (bass, mid, treble, plus a variable low-cut) tackles boominess and pickup-induced sub-bass buildup. A soft-knee compressor evens out dynamics, and a footswitchable boost adds up to 9dB when you need to cut through a mix.
Built for the Stage
Run a 1/4″ output to your amp and a balanced XLR DI straight to the board, with automatic ground lift and switchable pre/post EQ routing on the DI. A selectable phase invert helps knock out feedback in tricky rooms.
