Description
The Player Stratocaster HSH takes the DNA that made the Strat a household name and adds some muscle. You still get that signature bell-like top end and snappy midrange, but the Alnico 2 humbuckers at neck and bridge push things into fatter, warmer territory when you need extra girth for rock, blues, or heavier styles. Nestled between them, the Alnico 5 single-coil middle pickup keeps the classic Fender sparkle in play, so the 5-way switch gives you a genuinely wide tonal palette rather than just a one-trick humbucker setup.
Playability gets just as much attention as tone. The Modern “C”-shaped maple neck feels comfortable in hand, and the 9.5″ radius fingerboard paired with 22 medium jumbo frets makes bends, legato runs, and fast passages feel effortless. The Pau Ferro board adds a smooth, slightly darker feel underhand compared to maple. Fender also revised the 2-point tremolo system here — it moves more freely for expressive vibrato work while actually holding tuning better thanks to reduced friction at the posts.
Details that round out the build: a synthetic bone nut, dual-wing string tree, sealed tuning machines, and the classic 3-ply pickguard. The four-bolt neck plate carries Fender’s
