Description
The Wolfgang WG Standard delivers the look and roar Eddie Van Halen made famous, packaged at a cost that won’t scare off the working musician. Under the hood you’ll find much of the same DNA as its pricier siblings in the Wolfgang line.
A basswood body with a sculpted “comfort cut” forearm contour keeps long sessions easy on the arm. The bolt-on neck is baked maple reinforced with graphite rods, so it shrugs off swings in temperature and humidity that would otherwise pull a guitar out of tune. A spoke wheel truss rod adjuster sits right at the neck heel for fast tweaks without pulling the neck off. The back of the neck wears an oiled finish for a fast, natural feel, while the fingerboard itself is a 12″-16″ compound radius slab of baked maple with rolled edges, 22 jumbo frets, and black dot inlays.
- Basswood body with comfort-cut forearm contour
- Bolt-on baked maple neck, graphite-reinforced, oiled back finish
- 12″-16″ compound radius baked maple fingerboard, rolled edges
- 22 jumbo frets, black dot inlays, spoke wheel truss rod adjustment
- Dual EVH Wolfgang humbucking pickups mounted direct-to-body
- Two 500k pots on black knurled control knobs, dialed to EVH’s own spec
- EVH-branded Floyd Rose Special bridge with R2 locking nut
The pickups mount straight to the body rather than floating on a pickguard, which pushes vibration transfer and sustain further than you’d expect at this price. The Floyd Rose Special bridge and locking nut hold pitch through aggressive dive bombs and everything in between. Finished with a black headstock and either black or black chrome hardware (black chrome reserved for Gloss Black models), this Quicksilver finish version has earned its stripes on real stages, built for players who need performance and comfort in equal measure.
