The G2420 Streamliner Hollow Body takes the vintage Gretsch formula and pushes it forward for players who want more punch without losing that signature twang and warmth. It’s built for guitarists who want a big, resonant instrument that can still cut through a full band mix.
At the heart of this guitar are Gretsch’s Broad’Tron BT-2S humbuckers, developed specifically for the Streamliner line. Compared to older single-coil Gretsch pickups, these deliver tighter low end, clearer articulation, and a stronger midrange growl, all while retaining the airy top end the brand is known for. Controls are straightforward and familiar: independent volume for each pickup, a master volume, master tone, and a three-way selector for quick tonal switching.
The nato neck features a thin “U” profile that suits both chord-heavy rhythm playing and quick lead runs, paired with a 12″ radius laurel fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and pearloid Hump Block inlays for a distinctive look. Tuning stability comes from the Adjusto-Matic bridge with a laurel base, a synthetic bone nut, and the eye-catching Chromatic II tailpiece.
Visually, the G2420 stays true to Gretsch tradition with laminated maple body construction, enlarged F-holes for extra acoustic breathing room, aged white binding with upgraded purfling, nickel hardware, and a three-ply tortoise pickguard, all finished in a rich Walnut gloss.
