Gus G. built his reputation as one of modern metal’s most respected six-stringers, logging over a decade on the road and in the studio with Firewind, Arch Enemy, Dream Evil, and as Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist since 2009 — a lineage that traces back to Randy Rhoads and Jackson’s earliest days. The JS32 Star brings his signature look to a genuinely accessible price point, reviving one of Jackson’s boldest original body shapes.
The poplar body keeps things light, while a one-piece bolt-on maple neck with graphite reinforcement and a scarf joint delivers stability without adding bulk. The bound rosewood fingerboard uses a 12″-16″ compound radius, so chords feel comfortable low on the neck while bends and solos stay effortless up top across all 24 jumbo frets, marked with pearloid sharkfin inlays.
Tone comes from a pair of Jackson high-output humbuckers, controlled by a single volume knob and a straightforward 3-way toggle — bridge, both, or neck. A Jackson radius-compensated TOM-style bridge with anchored tailpiece keeps tuning stable under aggressive playing, and black hardware throughout ties in with the satin black finish and white pinstripe detailing.
