Description
The Squier Vintage Modified Mustang brings a beloved offset silhouette back into the lineup, built around a 24″ scale that makes fast playing and easy bends feel almost effortless. It’s a guitar that rewards players who like to experiment: dual on/off-phase slider switches for each pickup open up tonal combinations well beyond a standard two-pickup layout, letting you dial in everything from thin, biting textures to fuller, rounder voices.
Under the hood, a basswood body pairs with a maple neck finished in gloss polyurethane with a vintage tint, topped by a Laurel fingerboard carrying 22 medium jumbo frets and a comfortable 9.5″ radius. The “C”-shaped neck profile and 1.650″ nut width keep the feel familiar and easy in hand, while parchment dot inlays and a vintage-tint headstock nod to the model’s original era.
Tone comes courtesy of Duncan Designed SC-101 single-coils in the neck and bridge, wired to master volume and tone controls plus that signature phase-switching setup. The floating bridge and dynamic vibrato tailpiece — fitted with a vintage-style tremolo arm — deliver the Mustang’s characteristic pitch-bending flutter, while white-tipped tuning machines and a white pearloid pickguard complete the retro look against the Fiesta Red finish.
