Description
Jim Root doesn’t need a lot of knobs to get the job done, and this signature Telecaster reflects that philosophy. Built in collaboration with the Slipknot and Stone Sour guitarist, it trades typical Tele fuss for a minimalist, no-nonsense control layout: one volume knob, one pickup switch, done. The satin-matte Flat White finish over a mahogany body gives it an understated, almost tactical look, backed up by all-black hardware including die-cast tuners.
Under the hood are two passive humbucking pickups with black covers, wired for serious low-end weight and cutting distortion – built for downtuned riffing and heavy dynamics rather than twangy country licks. The three-way switch (black tip) lets you move between pickup combinations quickly, and the string-through-body six-saddle hard-tail bridge adds sustain and tuning stability under aggressive playing.
The modern C-shaped maple neck wears a satin matte finish that matches the body, feels fast under the hand, and pairs with a 12-inch radius laurel fingerboard. Twenty-two jumbo frets give plenty of room for bends and lead work, while the parchment dot inlays add a subtle contrast against the dark wood. A single-ply black pickguard finishes off the white-bodied look, and the numbered volume knob keeps things visually consistent with the rest of the black hardware.
