Description
The Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster brings back the offset body shape that made the original famous, while updating the guts for players who want more punch and clarity out of the box. Duncan Designed JM-101 single-coil pickups (Alnico 5 magnets, front and back) give this Jazzmaster a fuller, clearer voice than the vintage originals, and the 9.5″ fingerboard radius makes bending and fast runs feel more comfortable than the old-school flat vintage curve.
True to the Jazzmaster’s roots, this model keeps the dual-circuit setup that made it so flexible on stage: a rhythm circuit with its own black disc knobs for a mellow neck-pickup tone, and a lead circuit with white Strat-style knobs covering neck, bridge, or both pickups together. Flip between them with the circuit selector switch and dial in tones with the pickup selector toggle. The floating vibrato bridge (non-locking, vintage-style) delivers that signature shimmer and pitch wobble, complete with a vintage-style tremolo arm.
Built around a basswood body finished in gloss polyurethane, the maple neck wears a vintage-tint gloss finish with a comfortable “C” profile. The rosewood fingerboard hosts 21 medium jumbo frets and parchment dot inlays for a warm, broken-in look. A 25.5″ scale length and 1.650″ nut width keep the feel familiar to anyone coming from a Strat or Tele. Chrome hardware, vintage-style tuners, and aged white pickup covers round out the vintage-correct aesthetic, finished off with an engraved neck plate and gold-and-black Squier logo.
