Description
Squier’s Vintage Modified ’70s Stratocaster nods to the era when Fender leaned into oversized headstocks, black hardware, and gloss-finished maple necks. This Black finish version pairs a basswood body with a maple neck and maple fretboard, topped with black dot inlays that keep the retro theme consistent from headstock to heel.
The “C”-shaped neck carries 21 medium jumbo frets across a 9.5″ radius fretboard, with a 1.650″ nut width and 25.5″ scale length that feel right at home for players coming from any Strat-style instrument. A vintage-tint gloss polyurethane finish on the neck and gloss polyester on the body give it that slightly aged look straight out of the box.
Under the hood, three Duncan Designed SC-101 single-coil pickups (bridge, middle, neck) run through a 5-way blade switch, so you get everything from bright, snappy bridge tones to warm neck-pickup sounds and the classic quacky in-between positions. Master volume and two tone controls give you shaping power without overcomplicating things.
Hardware stays true to the vintage-style theme: a synchronized tremolo bridge with a period-correct tremolo arm, chrome vintage-style tuners, and an engraved neck plate. The three-ply black/white/black pickguard and black control knobs complete the ’70s-inspired black plastic parts look, along with the gold and black Squier logo on the headstock.
