Description
The original Starcaster was a Fender oddity from the mid-to-late ’70s – the only offset-waist semi-hollow electric the company ever built, and one that vanished from lineups almost as quickly as it appeared. Decades later, players hunting for something outside the Strat/Tele mold rediscovered it, and Fender answered with this Modern Player version: same eccentric charm, updated for the stage.
Structurally, it’s a laminated maple body wrapped around an alder center-block, giving you the airy resonance of a hollow body without the feedback headaches at volume. The bound maple top and back are joined by bound f-holes, and the whole thing wears a Gloss Polyester finish in Black. Up the neck, a C-shaped maple neck carries a 9.5
