Description
The Player Telecaster keeps everything that made this shape a working musician’s staple for decades, then updates it with details that make sense for how people actually play today. It’s an alder body finished in gloss polyester, wearing the unmistakable 3-Color Sunburst, paired with a Modern “C”-shaped maple neck that feels equally at home for chicken-pickin’ country runs or gritty indie rock chords.
Under the hood are a pair of Player Series Alnico 5 single-coil pickups, voiced to deliver that bright, cutting Tele character with a touch of modern clarity. A 3-way blade switch gives you bridge, both, or neck, run through simple master volume and tone controls so you’re never fumbling mid-song. The pau ferro fingerboard has a 9.5″ radius and 22 medium jumbo frets, making bends and fast lead lines feel natural, while the string-through-body bridge with bent-steel saddles locks in sustain and keeps intonation dead accurate.
Small touches add up: a synthetic bone nut, dual-wing string tree, sealed tuning machines, and the classic four-bolt neck plate stamped with Fender’s “F” logo all point to a guitar built to hold up night after night.
