Every guitarist eventually has to reckon with the Stratocaster sound – that bell-like top end, snappy midrange, and low end with just enough punch to hold its own in a mix. The Player Series distills that legacy into an alder-bodied instrument with a gloss polyester finish in Buttercream, a color that gives this classic shape a fresh look without straying from Fender’s DNA.
Under the hood are three Player Series Alnico 5 single-coil pickups, wired through a 5-way blade switch and master volume with two tone controls, giving you every classic Strat voicing from glassy neck tones to cutting bridge twang. The maple neck wears a Modern “C” profile, satin on the back and gloss up front, paired with a maple fingerboard at a 9.5″ radius. A 22nd medium jumbo fret extends the upper register, and a synthetic bone nut keeps tuning stable at the headstock.
Fender reworked the 2-point synchronized tremolo on this series to reduce friction against the posts, so you get smoother arm travel along with more dependable tuning return. Other details include a 3-ply parchment pickguard, parchment control knobs, sealed cast tuning machines, a dual-wing string tree, and the four-bolt neck plate stamped with Fender’s iconic “F.”
