Description
The Mustang has been part of Fender’s story since 1964, picked up by everyone from Nirvana to The 1975 for its scrappy charm and stage-ready comfort. This version keeps that legacy alive with a short 24″ scale that makes big bends feel effortless and gives the tone a slightly warmer, thicker edge than a standard Fender.
- Alder body with a gloss polyester finish, paired with a satin polyurethane “C”-shaped maple neck
- Maple fingerboard, 9.5″ radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, black dot inlays
- Two angled Mustang single-coil pickups – low-output with bell-like highs, punchy mids, and lows that sit well in a mix
- Master volume, master tone, and a 3-way toggle (bridge / bridge+neck / neck)
- 6-saddle string-through-body Strat hardtail bridge with bent steel saddles for sustain and dialed-in intonation
- Synthetic bone nut, 1.650″ wide, with Fender Standard cast/sealed tuners
- 4-ply aged white pearloid pickguard and vintage-style black plastic Jazz Bass knobs
- Strung with Fender USA NPS strings, .010-.046 gauge
The smaller offset body makes this an easy guitar to move around with on stage, and it’s a natural fit for players with smaller hands or anyone who leans on extended chord shapes. What started as a student model has become an underground favorite, a big part of the DNA behind grunge and alternative guitar tone, and this Olive finish gives it a bit of understated cool to match.
