Description
The Godin xtSA isn’t content being just another solid body — it’s built to cover electric, acoustic, and synth territory from a single instrument. At the core is a humbucker-single coil-humbucker array wired to a 5-way switch, so you get thick humbucker output alongside airy split-coil tones in the middle positions.
Roll back the magnetic pickups and bring up the RMC transducer saddles built into the tremolo bridge, and the xtSA shifts into acoustic mode. A custom onboard preamp with 3-band graphic EQ shapes that piezo signal, and thanks to the guitar’s dual-output design, you can blend electric and acoustic voices internally with one cable, or send them separately to an amp and mixer for full control at the board.
Then there’s the synth side: a built-in 13-pin connector taps straight into Roland GR-Series synths and most other 13-pin-compatible gear, making the xtSA a legitimate tracking controller alongside everything else it does.
None of this would matter if it didn’t play well, and that’s where the LGX-SA lineage shows. The xtSA carries the same 25″ scale mahogany neck as Godin’s flagship LGX-SA, paired with an ergocut ebony fingerboard and medium jumbo frets for a fast, comfortable feel. The body pairs a silverleaf maple center with poplar wings, topped in figured maple veneer for a striking look in this Trans Black finish.
