Description
The American Performer Mustang takes Fender’s short-scale offset and updates it for guitarists who want that compact, comfortable feel alongside dependable modern playability. Built in Corona, California, it pairs an alder body with a 24″ scale neck, making it an easy reach for smaller hands or anyone who prefers a snappier, more intimate feel than a standard Strat or Tele.
Under the 4-ply aged white pearloid pickguard sit a pair of Yosemite single-coil Mustang pickups, wired through Fender’s Greasebucket tone circuit to keep your tone clean and full-bodied even as you roll off treble. The 3-way toggle gives you bridge, combined, or neck pickup options, so you can move between biting twang and warmer, rounder tones without touching a dial.
The Modern C-shaped neck has a 9.5″ fingerboard radius and 22 jumbo frets, striking a comfortable balance for chords and lead lines alike. A rosewood fingerboard, synthetic bone nut, and Fender ClassicGear tuning machines round out a neck built to hold tune and feel familiar right out of the case. The vintage-modern Mustang bridge and tremolo bring classic offset vibrato feel with improved stability, while the silver ’70s-style logo nods to the model’s history.
