Description
The Telecaster Deluxe was born in the ’70s when players wanted hum-free tone without losing that edge-of-blowup amp sizzle. Fender’s American Professional take on it pairs that original mission with real upgrades for stage and studio use, all wrapped in a natural-finish ash body with a maple neck.
At the heart of this guitar are two ShawBucker humbuckers, each voiced independently for its position – bridge and neck – so you get punch and clarity rather than a generic humbucker mush. They lean warmer than a standard single-coil Tele but keep enough bite to cut through, which is why this model shows up everywhere from pop records to heavier modern styles. A treble-bleed circuit on both volume controls keeps the top end intact as you roll off gain, so rolling down the volume doesn’t mean rolling off your tone.
The neck carries Fender’s “Deep C” profile – fuller than a Modern C, not quite a U – built for players who want substance under their hand without sacrificing speed. Narrow-tall frets make string bends and up-neck chording feel precise, and a bone nut adds a touch of vintage-correct resonance and sustain.
