Description
The Fullerton Deluxe Legacy HSS takes the beloved Legacy formula and adds some extra muscle where it counts. Designed with input from G&L VP of Engineering Paul Gagon, this build swaps the standard bridge single coil for a G&L AW4470 alnico humbucker, paired with vintage-voiced alnico G&L CLF-100 single coils in the neck and middle. The result is a guitar that covers more sonic ground — full and driving in humbucker mode, then splittable to a convincing single-coil voice with bright, ringing harmonics when you need that classic snap.
Every Legacy hallmark carries over here. Leo’s PTB (Passive Treble and Bass) circuit works across all three pickups, letting you cut treble and bass independently for far more tonal shaping than a standard tone knob allows, and a dedicated switch splits the bridge humbucker on demand. The Dual-Fulcrum vibrato, another Leo Fender design, delivers smooth pitch bends with excellent return-to-pitch stability, and its beefy aluminum arm feels great under the hand.
The hard-rock maple neck wears a satin finish for a fast, unfussy feel, with a comfortable 9 1/2″ radius and Jescar 57110 medium-jumbo nickel-silver frets that make fretting and bending feel effortless. This Jet Black version sits over an alder body, finished off with a 3-ply parchment pickguard and maple fingerboard.
Rooted in the S-500 and Comanche lineage but reworked with modern touches and an added humbucker, the Legacy HSS is built for players who want vintage-inspired alnico tone with more versatility on tap.
