Fender didn’t just tweak the old reissue formula here—they went back to actual ’52 Telecasters, measured them, and rebuilt the model from the ground up. The American Vintage ’52 Telecaster is the result: a guitar that captures the curves, tone, and feel of the earliest production Teles with a level of accuracy previous reissues never quite hit.
The ash body wears a thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish in a slightly lighter Butterscotch Blonde, paired with a single-ply black pickguard for that classic no-frills look. The maple neck carries a deep “U”-shaped profile with generously rolled edges, plus a sculpted headstock volute that adds comfort in the first-position area. Vintage tuner spacing keeps string pull straight over the bone nut, and the recessed “barrel” switch tip is a detail long absent from most reissues—now back where it belongs.
Under the hood, the American Vintage ’52 Single-Coil pickups were wound to period-correct specs, delivering that snappy, twangy bite the ’52 is famous for.
