Fender’s Jaguar arrived in 1962 as the flagship of the electric line, loaded with switches and a look unlike anything else in the catalog. It went on to become the darling of surf pickers, punk rockers, and indie guitarists drawn to its unusual voice and short-scale feel. The American Original ’60s Jaguar revives that formula with era-correct construction and a few refinements for players who live in the present.

At the heart of the tone are Pure Vintage ’62 single-coil Jaguar pickups, wax-potted and built the old way: enamel-coated coil wire, cloth-covered leads, fiber bobbins, and alnico 5 magnets. The dual-circuit switching survives fully intact, lead and rhythm circuits included, plus the bass-cutting “strangle” switch that gives the Jaguar its signature snarl. An alder body wears a nitrocellulose lacquer finish that ages honestly and lets the wood resonate, while the maple neck carries a ’60s “C” profile, vintage-tall frets, and a round-laminated rosewood board at a 9.5″ radius.

Vintage-style hardware rounds it out, including the floating tremolo with lock button and push-in arm, Pure Vintage single-line Fender Deluxe tuners, a 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, and a bone nut. It ships in a vintage-style hardshell case.
