The Jazzmaster was built for jazz players but got adopted by everyone else — surf bands, punks, indie kids — thanks to its offbeat switching and that unmistakable warble from the floating tremolo. This American Original ’60s model brings back the era-correct details while quietly updating the feel for modern hands.
Doing the heavy lifting are the Pure Vintage ’65 single-coil pickups, wound with enamel-coated wire on fiber bobbins around alnico 5 magnets, cloth wiring and all, with pole pieces flush-mounted just as they were originally. Paired with the Jazzmaster’s separate lead and rhythm circuits (each with its own volume and tone), you get a wider tonal palette than a standard 3-way switch would suggest.
The alder body wears a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish that ages and marks up in that classic vintage way, and lets the wood resonate rather than seal it in. The maple neck carries a mid-’60s
