Description
Designed alongside Robert Smith of The Cure, the UltraCure takes the shimmering, atmospheric voice he’s known for and puts it in a guitar built for real-world gigging. The chambered mahogany body carries a flat top with a subtle raised center, finished here in a deep Black Pearl, and it’s paired with a set-neck construction that includes Schecter’s Ultra Access heel cutaway for easy upper-fret work.
A 3-piece maple neck with a thin ‘C’ profile and 25.5″ scale sits under a rosewood fretboard, dressed with mother of pearl block inlays and glow-in-the-dark side dots for low-light stages. 24 X-Jumbo frets and a 14″ radius keep bends smooth and playing fast, while the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut and Schecter locking tuners help everything stay in tune.
Tone comes from a matched set of Seymour Duncan ’59 humbuckers (SH-1B bridge, SH-1N neck), wired through dual push-pull volume controls, a master volume, and a 3-way switch for coil-splitting flexibility. A Bigsby B50 vibrato with a roller TonePros tune-o-matic bridge delivers that vintage shimmer and pitch-bend character central to Smith’s sound.
