Description
The Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Classic takes Leo Fender’s last word on the bolt-on single-cutaway and wraps it in some of the finest finish combinations G&L’s Option Order menu has to offer. Body wood is chosen to match the look: Butterscotch Blonde and Vintage Natural sit atop swamp ash left in a transparent finish that lets the grain show through, while Jet Black, 3-Tone Sunburst, Lake Placid Blue and Fullerton Red are built on alder for a rounder low end, each with a comfortable rear body contour. Every finish gets a pickguard chosen to complement it, and the neck carries G&L’s Clear Tint Satin finish for a fast, unfussy feel under the hand.

At the heart of the ASAT Classic sits a boxed-steel bridge with individually adjustable brass saddles, giving intonation precision well beyond vintage standards. The bridge pickup is a single-coil Magnetic Field Design unit developed by Leo Fender himself, delivering sharp attack and harmonically rich overtones. The neck MFD pickup rounds things out with warm, articulate tones that move easily between clean jazz voicings and gritty blues grind. Blend the two together and you get a third voice entirely — smooth, full, and endlessly playable.
Built in the historic G&L facility on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California — the Birthplace of Bolt-on — this instrument carries forward Leo Fender’s design philosophy in a shop that’s been running continuously since 1980.
